About Us
After 8 years, I decided to close the stores and settle down on Bugg’s Island Lake in Buffalo Junction, VA. I began traveling as a manufacturer’s representative for leading textile companies including Thomasville Home Furnishings and Old Towne Window Works. It was then that I decided to open a store in the area. The window treatment/outlet store opened in 1998 and drew clients from hours away. As time passed, the majority of the manufacturers in the USA were forced out of business because most of the manufacturing moved overseas. Ready made window treatments and bedding stock began to dwindle. To supplement our inventory, I decided to start designing and manufacturing my own line of window treatments, bedding, shower curtains, and other linens. Soon we started doing custom work made to our clients' specifications. We did whatever it took to provide our clients with the best possible experience, specializing in excellent customer service and quality product.
In 2014, I hired Morgan to help me upstairs with our custom line on the weekends. Little did I know that Morgan would love working with the fabrics and window treatments as much as I did. I began teaching her everything about fabrics, measuring, different kinds of window treatments, and how to hang them. She absorbed it like a sponge. Now she knows as much as I do, maybe more.
Over the years, I have hired several local seamstresses here in the state of VA that do all of our custom work. These ladies provide quality workmanship that you rarely can find anymore. We are very blessed with excellent fabric sources that I accumulated over the years during my time as a sales rep. We are able to purchase our fabrics at outstanding prices and we pass these savings on to our clients.
In 2014 when my father passed away, I inherited our family home in the Northern Neck. After some time and much thought, I decided it was time to come home. Morgan moved with me to manage the new store. We loaded two cargo containers with merchandise. After careful consideration, we decided that Kilmarnock was the perfect place to open our business. We were located downtown for 2 years, where we established relationships with both customers and local businesses in the community, before deciding to once again move the business. This time to expand both in size and inventory. After reviewing many different options, we settled on the old Ed Lewis Marine building, located between Tappahannock and Warsaw.
You will find 100’s of fabrics and window treatments in-stock, along with bedding, bath accessories, home décor, curtain rods and much more. We also custom make window treatments, draperies, bedding, table décor and a wide range of other items. We strive to provide quality products and excellent customer service to our clients both in person and virtually.

Get to know: Carole
I’ve been in the home décor business for 40+ years. I love working with our clients to help them make their house a home! Shopping for fabrics is one of my favorite things to do (as you can tell from our vast inventory)! In my spare time, I enjoy working in my greenhouse and flower beds, pampering my three pups, spending time with my family and friends, going to church, baking, and soft crabbing.
GET TO KNOW: MORGAN
I was 14 when Carole hired me to assist on the weekends. Immediately, I fell in love with everything about the job! Helping clients decorate their homes has become a passion of mine. When I’m not at the shop, you can find me outside (preferably at the beach)! I love volunteering at church, reading, binge watching my favorite TV shows and spending time with friends and family; especially my three younger sisters.
